Starting off the months with a mix:
Both spikes are now open on my C. Penny Kuroda 'Spots'
another very fragrant spotty - Blc Waianae Leopard 'Ching Hua' is not fully open yet, it still has a couple more buds to go. There was a dead bee stuck in one of the blooms. Poor thing.
Phymatidium tillandsioides did not open all the buds this year, many simply dropped in those heavy downpours we had the last couple of weeks. But I still think these little plants in lesser blooms are cute.
Brassavola David Sander was a tiny plant in 2004 in one of the freebee boxes at Oak Hill. It also bloomed last year around this time, I did see the spent bloom at our return from Iceland/Greenland. So this year I finally get to see it in bloom!
Ascofinetia Peaches opens a spike
And Vascostylis Midnight Treasure came as a tiny thing from Ooi Leng Sun in March 2010, it had a teensy spike last Summer and looks much respectable this year. I love the color. The last picture shows the color in late afternoon light after the rain.
