You can try to cut a bud of a similar color and keep it in the cold for a while. Usually this procedure intensifies the color. At an APS convention, I was surprised how yellow were flowers of Roy Pehrson's Best Yellow and how black was Black Panther in flower arrangements. I was told all flowers were cut and stored before and during transportation.
