This year I planted green beans that were a variety of climbing beans. I'm a little confused though. When they grew they put out 2 shoots of true leafs. So about 6 big leafs total, then the stem got very long and rapped around a trellis. But.. that's it. Ever since that, they're growing very slowly, I see some more leaf nodes forming from said stem but shouldn't they be flowering by now? My other variety would have just been tiny and made a bunch of beans by now. My snow peas which are right next to them are about triple the size and begging to bloom, should I switch those green beans to a blooming fertilizer? Right now they're on Grow Big.
Mother-nature's only mistake was the creation of squash vine borers..... and aphids.
