Hi Ive, even though it looks bad it still has a chance to recover. Let it plenty of air to dry out the rotted area, as soon as you see it is completly dry try peeling it off than let it dry a little more before planting it again.

now the other one that looks like only caoude was left, check and see if can see if there any area on it were a leaf used to be at, if there is none than try to graft a piece of another plant into it. I say this because if there is no leaf outlet on the caudex it won't grow anymore and eventualy rot away. hope this helps you.
