No thorns, Sharon. I've got it in a pot and am training it as a standard, i.e. keeping it as short as possible. It's an exuberant grower, so I have to keep after it with the pruning shears. Glad I haven't pruned it yet this year, as I would probably have prevented it from blooming now.

Hooray for the banana canna! Has it had any humming bird visits? Ours is a magnet for hummers.
