New Orleans is getting pounded and the levees south of N.O. have already been breeched, with the worst still to come. It looks like (at least) another 24 hr of this for them. That's what most people don't understand. Hurricanes seem to take forever to get out. Just imagine a 30 minute, severe thunderstorm, and then expand that to typically a 6-12 hr. event. Isaac is going to become at least a 36 hr event with howling winds and torrential rains. I just spoke to a friend who is a judge in Pascagoula. They stayed home and live approximately 2 blocks from the beach. He said there was no much problem there (yet). Some streets closed but no power outage.

Our weather here in Starkville is breezy with beautiful cloud coloration to the south and east. No rain at all. It looks like the outer band is just getting to Jackson, which is 125 miles SW of Starkville. Our weather will probably begin to deteriorate by mid-afternoon, with the worst of it all day Thursday.

The reason it's so hard to lose weight when you get up in age is because your body and your fat have become good friends.
