Westerland has always been classified as a shrub in the rose world, Cindi, so don't worry about that. It always climbs, but it can also be pruned to remain a shrub.

I'm sure they'll be happy to let you add on, and they won't charge you extra money for it. Just e-mail them or call them up. They're wonderful people and might talk your ear off, but they're very accommodating.

You're going to love South Africa! It was one of the very first roses I ever ordered from Palatine, back in 2006 or 2007 -- whenever they first started shipping roses to the United States.
