You are gonna absolutely love Blue Bayou. It's definitely in my top 3 favorite roses. Seriously. I absolutely LOVE that rose. But I want variety, otherwise I would have ordered more of them. Next year, however, if all my Sterling Silvers croak or all my BGs, I may just order a ton of them to replace them here, there, & wherever in the yard. Poseidon is also a wonderful rose.. blooming quite nicely this year (first year in the ground). I had the choice between Lavender Lassie or Charles de Gaulle, so I went with CdG. Now, I'm hoping that your Charles de Mills is better than mine. I got mine from RU based on the description from HMF. Mine has the world's worst thorns (covered from head to toe) and is always blood thirsty (grabs at me whenever I walk by). I'm having to move him once the weather cools down (wth, 90+ degs in Sept??? our norms are supposed to be in the 70s & 60s!!!). I don't know exactly where I'm going to put him (someplace I don't walk through, that's for sure), but I *have* to move him due to the thorns (he has the little prickers plus the big ol' thorns).
Rachel is a VERY nice lady if you call her. She may not pick up the phone immediately, but she will call you back. I'd recommend calling rather than emailing. Sometimes, they're a little slow w/responding to emails. But I seriously doubt they'll charge you extra anything to add another rose onto your list.
I can't wait! I'm doing bad things.. I'm requesting all these roses to be shipped to me mid-november. That's totally the wrong time of year for me to get them, but what I'm doing is putting them in the ground super deep (24-30" deep each to support their root systems) and then putting a mountain of mulch (about half a bag each) over each one (I have these big buckets w/o bottoms that I put around the canes). That way, when spring wakes up everything, they'll have a big ol head start.
