I usually bury one of their longer ends and easily get roots.


I think it's likely. However, most of my observations are with the opuntia native here and if it weren't native, it would be considered invasive. A woody piece of O. quimilo is what sprouted new growth after I thought the plant had been killed by too cold temps.
