If that toe/foot isn't 90% better by 2 weeks after your accident, get a podiatry referral. X-rays don't pick up torn ligaments or tendons. Fractures can hide also. I had six bones in my foot fractured at once. I read my own X-ray and spotted one of them (I taught the NP something). The podiatrist could see 2 fractures, but ordered a CT, because he suspected there could be more. The RADIOLOGIST read the X-rays as NORMAL. D'Oh! D'Oh! D'Oh! Trust no one. If you're not healing fast and well, have a specialist take another look.
