Avedon, I agree with you, and I think the next one is going to be a true blue, if it's even possible. Seems like so many people are working toward that goal, which is great! Of course, it would be awesome if I was the one who made that breakthrough, but that means that I'd have to work toward that goal.
Ya, right! I'm just hoping to get a bloom that isn't totally ugly, no matter what color it is! Actually, it was a daylily with blue in the name that got me started hybridizing. I think I'll start a new thread on that topic. I just hope that a blue one shows up in my lifetime, because I'd really love to see that!
Hector, I had heard a long time ago that white was a great color to use when trying to clear up colors. Have you found that to be true? Maybe you haven't worked with a lot of colors though, so it may be a question that someone else will have to answer. I'm really curious because I'm got a decent red seedling, but I think the color is a little muddy looking. I'm going to try crossing it with one that I have that is considered white (Sunday Gloves), and hope for a better color. Or, maybe it would just be a waste of time? I'm limited on space, so I'm not sure it would even be worth trying.
