First of all, we now have a new Series field in the name. This is a very big change from where we previously doing this just through the databox area:

Now if I'm reading this right, it looks like you are describing a situation where a series name is shared across multiple different kinds of plants. In that case, I don't see a reason how that changes anything. We can input that series name into the series name field.
