Zuzu, would it be possible to re-title this thread so that it more accurately reflects the contents?
I think that these are competent and accurate photos of roses blooming in Toni's garden (and Joanna's, too), and that many of these photos depict very desirable roses. Even where we might judge the rose itself to have flaws, those flaws are typical of the roses they depict and helpful in making judgments about those cultivars. I would suggest 'candid' vs 'posed' in speaking about the state we find a rose to be in when we photograph it. There is also a state in which a rose is gussied up by removal of petals and so on and then photographed in artificial conditions. This we might call a 'glam shot.' Perhaps this thread is better titled September Rose Candids.
