Oh heck, I even invent new garden terms, Jo Ann. I once lowered my pH down to 6.5 with good intentions because that's where it should be for most lilies. But in doing so, it made too much nutrition available and I ended up with some burned lilies. I got caught in a trick of soil chemistry-- so I called it 'accidental overculture'. It's become a standard term around here now when things don't go right!
