Janet read the following and tell me what you think. I for one seem to like/agree.
"Another Pinus roxburghii, but with defective genes for chlorophyll production. This makes it poor at photosynthesis, so the cone size is stunted as it doesn't have the energy to produce normal size cones.
Since a lot of people like growing trees with yellow foliage, it would be worth getting this propagated by a nursery (graft shoots onto normal Chir Pine seedlings) for sale as a new cultivar. It could be quite valuable.

Wonder why the mutation, age of trees seem to agree with one incident. The 80's invasion by Russia on Afghanistan and these trees are growing in that quadrant.
