Fred, my opinion of the auction right now is that seeds are going for a lot more than in previous years. My guess is that the difficult summer decreased seed harvest, hence inceasing the seed prices. I feel like I am paying twice as much for the seeds I have bid on.
I am not ready to purchase plants yet, (haven't a clue where I am planting the ones I am already ordering for 2013 from the hybridizers!
So I haven't been watching those prices as closely.
