I also learned recently that sometimes a plant that is supposed to be pod fertile won't set pods the first year after you plant it, but usually will by the second year. Could that explain why several of my "newbies" didn't set pods for me this year?

Also, could it be that some plants have been treated with BAP, which keeps them from being fertile for at least a while? I know that Floyd Cove and Maryott's both state on their websites that they do not use BAP, so I'm starting to think that that is important. Can anyone enlighten me on this?
