Pineapple Sage grows very thick and lush, with the most amazing red blooms. The humming birds fight over it. I'll have to put in several plants in different locations this year so they don't keep chasing each other off. Just walking by this one fill your sense with the scent of pineapple. What a great plant.
Salvia 'Black and Blue', another one that make a wonderful dense foliage plant. It bloomed all summer and stayed through 3 winters. Lost it when the house painters trampled it during the summer.
Time to get another one.
I can't find my photo of S. 'Hot Lips'. I loved that salvia, wasn't as tall as the Pineapple Sage and Black and Blue.
