Yep, I have one of those that I had been trimming (I live in an apt bldg - so its not my plant) then the property mgmnt hired people for the yard and they came in and went crazy, most of the things they cut back (forsythia, hydrangea and several other bushes) are totally ok, but the witch hazel hasn't bloomed since (although now you're making me want to check...on my way, and have my phone!)
