Thank you for commenting on my pretty cactus. I have a Disocactus x +hybridus that I have cuttings and plants for sale. It is the ugliest plant I have ever seen but the flowers are just beautiful. This one came from my friend from South Africa. It was so bit they had to cut off the bottom to get it into the car

This ia a hybrid of Disocactus phylianthoides x Disocactus speciosus. This plant has long been confused as the species, Disocactus ackenmannii. The oroginal plant was grown in cultivation in the early to mid 1800's but towards the turn of the 20th century, this hybrid plant was introduced. According to the real professionals, the true species plant of Disocactus ackermannii is difficult to grow. But this hybrid is said to be practically indestructible. That is what makes it so popular.

Hey, that is your lesson for today gang. I am off to do some volunteer work and then make some chili. It is going to get very cold here tonight and tomorrow my gang will have hot chili to take to work for lunch. Thumbs up Have a healthy (no flu) day if you can help it and a happy one.
