Not fair. Fruits which you have in mind like Alpine conditions but there are fruits which maybe you may not know of but they thrive in muggy conditions. The fruits in your mind are also not American. Year round 80%/90%. Yes you do have a modifying factor in your climate in the shape of the Gulf of Mexico. Complete South, that statement is a bit to sweeping. The Gulf effects should be more pronounced on the East coast rather then the West coast. Currents should enter at a diagonal New Mexico grazing the Western corner of Missouri and beyond. Anything East of this diagonal should be somewhat as you describe. Even the snow storm a month back entered the US along these lines. Super saturated air from the Gulf. Instead of Apple grow Kiwi fruit. In place of grapes grow Jackfruit, Pineapple, etc and if you don't like these grow Sugar-apple (Annona squamosa), now this is proper American fruit. Go look at the Koppen classification

You wont find very many areas marked as Cfa. Central South America, part of East Central China and the area enclosed by the Great Barrier Reef. New Castle, Australia or should I say the Gold Coast. Exclusive ar'nt you?
