That was an interesting read, thanks for the link. I've never tried setting any seeds off that way, but I think our climate would be too cold and wet, even in Summer for lithops to survive outside.
I think I've just been very lucky in terms of getting good seed, buying from Ebay is always a gamble! Although I've reciently discovered www.chilternseeds.co.uk and they seem to carry a bit of everything from the common to the more rare and everything I've bought from there has had good germination rates. Fingers crossed that continues because I've just sown some new cactus seeds this afternoon!
