Great article, an interesting read!
I once read a book about searching for old roses & rose rustling https://www.amazon.com/dp/0226105962/ and it was so interesting, I was ready to hop in the car and go on the hunt for old cemeteries and abandoned homesteads! I have seen several old roses in some of the cemeteries in the old gold towns from the Gold Rush days but they weren't in bloom and I wasn't prepared to take cuttings.
