Oh, what a terrible morning I've had so far. I discovered that three of my 20 year old arbor vitae trees were destroyed by the storm. In addition to the one I already knew about, two more beside it were split right down to the base of the trunk, and are now lying prostrate. So three in a row are lost, and I now have a big gaping hole in the tall privacy hedge that separates my yard from my mentally deranged neighbor who has yelling fits once every so often. The only good thing is that I now have a better view of his red bud tree, but it sustained damage too. We still have people without power since last Thursday night in the area, and there are downed trees all over the neighborhood. Sigh...
