Mine work best when I'm not planning it. Here's an old photo to illustrate what I mean. The white rose that's climbing up the persimmon tree in the back of the photo was not planted by me. One day I was pruning roses and had an entire wheelbarrow full of pruning debris. As I came around that corner, the wheelbarrow tipped. I thought I had picked up all of the little sticks, but I evidently left some there, because a huge Madame Alfred Carriere grew in that spot and climbed to the top of the tree.
