Sue I meant they did not sprawl like the shrub does. I have to cut the shrub back several times during a season. I only cut Queen Elizabeth for shaping and Roses go dormant in the winter here and start over in Spring. Check out the length of space between the leaves and the length of the stems in general in the above pics. That is what I was talking about. The shrub grows much much faster. When it gets too out of hand in the space I have it which is by a circular drive I really have to cut it back....then away it goes again. I do not know what they would do if I did not cut them. The man at the nursery said they would both continue to bloom as long as they were dead headed. I stay on top of that. Monday is dead head day around here. lol I am new at this and I am learning as I go along. I know to dead head faithfully and hit them with Bayer mulch well and when watering do not get water on leaves because they will promptly turn yellow. What is that about? It rains on them and they are fine and I have no chemicals in my water. Country living means personal deep water well. shirleyt
