When I was still working , we had a lot of city streets that were a shortcut between the 05 freeway and the 261tollroad. There were 3 major wholesale growers along that route, and I always marveled at the cannas (tropicannas) that sat under their drainage where it dropped into county drainage. The rest of their plants were watered with overhead sprinklers, but the cannas thrived in that ditch.
