Same species, Ceci, but it might be a different subspecies. Not well known, but there are a few Danaus plexippus with small differences, even in areas of North America some are rarely noticed subspecies. Maybe the one in Ceci's first Monarch pic is Danaus plexippus ssp. erippus? There's some dark shading between two black lines of the lower wing. I'm excited to see it! Thumbs up
