Seems very fitting for gravesites! The plants that I have been most enjoying for about a year now, are Sempervivums, (hen and chicks or houseleeks) which were planted around gravesites in Rome and Greece, as a remembrance. They are called Forever living, because even though the Hen dies after flowering, they usually leave babies to carry on! So this Iris would fit well with that theme! 
(not intending to sound too morbid!)
