Clint, this is my first 3 months buying Echeveria and tender succulents. I had a boat planter from all the cuttings I received from a friend last year. Then, I accidentally found this forum and saw Lynn's and everybody's collections and I'm hooked. Clint, Don't throw away the leaves of your "black prince" they might re-grow and make babies if you plant them. I'm planting a lot of Echeveria leaves right now, let's see if they give me babies or if they will die.
