Heh Heh, I have a lot of roses that look like that. My Cardinal Hume, however, stayed green through the winter and is going like gangbusters. No flowers yet, but it and Le Reve are having a competition for "earliest to leaf out and stay leafed out through the yo-yo weather." Actually, Rise 'n' Shine, Cherry Parfait, and Rainbow Sorbet would be on that list, too. Several of roses that arrived with leaves on or roses that leaved out too early are a total wreck. Futura, for example, I'm 99% sure I lost thanks to yo-yo weather.

Like an idiot, I planted my shipment from Rogue Valley Roses as frigid weather blew in. I got half the roses into the ground and gave up because the wind was too cold. The temp dipped into the teens. Froze the bejeezus out of most of the RVR roses that I had planted. Then, two days later I planted the rest. And they are all pretty happy. Some of the RVR roses I planted before the freeze are putting out new growth.

Fun photos.
When you dance with nature, try not to step on her toes.
