I can't tell if the plants I have are the same as the photographs you posted. I thought these were 'Indigo Spires' when I purchased them last year. They are just starting to bloom now and the dark stems are very intriguing. None of the other salvias here have these dark stems! It also is the only salvia variety anywhere near blooming other than 'May Nights.'
Does this look like Indigo Spires to you? These pics were taken in the past week or so.

This may compete with 'Black and Blue' as being my favorite salvia this season!
