Oh, that's one of those PVC post thingys Rita. But still..... I know what you mean. But birds nest in what I consider HOT wooden nesting boxes & do fine. Beats the heck out of me.
And now that I looked even closer in the 2nd photo I can see 3 eggs way back there instead of what I originally thought was 2.
