They're good-sized band roses, bigger than the roses you'd get from Rogue Valley or Vintage and certainly bigger than the ones from Heirloom. I've never bought a mislabeled one from them yet.

There is this, however: In my garden, many of them stop growing after about 3 years. They don't die; they just don't get any bigger. I have no idea why that happens. I used to love Amity and Northland roses because they were so much better than bands from anywhere else. Both of them, however, share that weird problem. I have about 50 or 60 from those two places, and at least half have stayed at their third-year growth. I know that's usually the maximum growth for modern roses, but only if they're grafted. Own-root roses take about 5 or 6 years to reach maximum growth in most cases.

It's especially apparent in duplicate roses from those two nurseries. If I have one from either of them and another from another nursery, even another own-root nursery like Roses Unlimited, for example, the Amity or Northland rose is always inferior by comparison after the third year.
