I had quack grass in my vege garden. Because we keep an organic garden, I use deep mulches and hand pull. Over time, the quack grass has faded to a very manageable level but it is a constant battle. Its cousin, crab grass, has now decided to sprout in the cracks along the vertical walls of the raised beds
I have read that if you use products containing glyphosate, you should fertilize first. This causes the dormant buds of the quack grass to sprout so you have more "kill spots" exposed.
