That is a really pretty boy you have there! You managed to capture the silvery look of the dragon scale much better than I did with mine.

I belong (online) to a couple betta breeder clubs/sites so I can learn about bettas but I won't try breeding. I sure have enjoyed having them though, especially the "new guy"

I have not been through a tank crash - yet - I am sure it will happen at some point. When I read about that happening on the Planted Tank, it's just heart breaking. So sorry that happened to you.

I dread the day when our electric goes out for a few days. in 2005 we lost power for 16 days. Last summer, we lost power for 5 days. I have a battery backup for the bigger tank, but that would not last for a full week.

I have not had the best luck with the wisteria. It looks good for a while, then the bottom melts away. I clip the tops off and replant, they go good for a while, and then it happens all over. The guy I got it from said they do better floating. So I tried that, but then all the roots hang down and I don't think it's very attractive, and certainly hard for a betta to navigate through.
