Although many of the Katydid.scudderia aka Scudderia furcata are brighter than this guy, I found several photos where the nymph had the identical coloring that your Katydid sports. I also found that another common name for him (or her) is the "dancing fork-tailed bush katydid".

BTW, your photograph is absolutely incredible!! No matter how much I enlarged it, it remained absolutely crystal clear and the layout of it is beautiful.

I hope the identification helps - and, again, thank you so much for resetting me with your cricket suggestion and putting me back on track.
