yup, when i did a bigger one i used 2 layers of chicken wire 1 /8 ' th of an inch offset

i use staples then nail the lath over it for looks and it keeps the wire from flexing
the wire is galvanized and strong but it will rust out over time, by then your plants will be so thick they may very well just stay put
