I have an antique canner (galvanized?) that actually has the insert. My mother was right proud of it. Over the years the bottom has rusted out so likely no $$ value. I have been thinking about turning it into a planter which would be outside 24/7/365 since no bottom. Do ya'll think it would do better (IE:hold up) in sun or shade ?? I would post a picture, but it is buried in the shed and I would rather someone was here with me just in case of nasty crawlies in there. Wonder can I teach the dogs to dial 911
