Hi Dryairfoliage, Welcome to ATP!

I've grown a few Dieff's in my time and it sounds like you are on the right track with caring for your plant. I live in Florida where it's very humid (we have MORE than our share!) so I don't have to worry about keeping the humidity up around my plants! Having a pebble tray beneath your plant will definitely help; keeping a little water in the tray at all times should supply sufficient humidity. Dieffenbachia's prefer bright shady conditions with no direct sun which will scorch the leaves; and it's best to keep them from drafts also. Be sure the plant isn't in the vicinity of an air conditioning/heat vent or drafts from windows or doors. Keep the soil moist but not too wet or you will end up with root rot and the demise of the plant.

Again, Welcome! to All Things Plants! I hope you take time to pop into some of the forums that you find of interest and introduce yourself. Don't hesitate to ask questions ... we're a friendly bunch here!
