Well you can quit wondering how it is doing because it kept tipping over (does not lay flat) and with all the other planters I potted up afterwards , I sort of forgot about the log in the background. It looked not at it's best and since I am an emotional container gardener, I scraped and pulled everything out.
I think I like the log better this way: it does not require water.
