Rhamel, you are having buds very early for Holiday Cactus, especially in your location but it does not surprise me. The plants are confused just like the weather. Those of us here in the East Coast are still watching our CC and Holiday Cactus shoot new growth. It will be another few weeks before we see actual buds forming. Those little pink leaves can fool you sometimes. The early hybrids should be showing buds by the middle or the end of October even the beginning of November...depending on their species and environment. You are correct, they need shorter days and cool night temps and that is why some people put theirs in closets, to help them bloom. I have never done that since I have so many, not enough closets. Rolling on the floor laughing The ones in the greenhouse go with the normal length of the days and now our days are getting shorter and with daylight time changing it will be dark by 5 P.M. so we will see them make some changes in their growing habits for sure. When you think about it, it is amazing how these plants all have their own little way of life, just like people. Thumbs up
