Vickie - Glad you enjoyed that YouTube slideshow. I try to document things online in case of a computer crash (which has happened to me in the past). And it's nice to do comparisons from year to year.
The 3-tiered bed was a fluke idea that came out of gardening area necessity. My yard slopes in many areas, so I was trying to get the most bang for my buck for gardening space. It has worked out really well. It started out as a wooden 3-tiered bed and I replaced it this year with cinder blocks and plastic recycled composite wood.
The statue is a new addition. I got it for a really cheap price at my neighbor's estate sale. She loved my backyard gardens, so I wanted a piece of yard art from her estate in her memory. I think she would be pleased to know that her two favorite concrete pieces are now in my garden beds. The other piece is a waterfall bird bath. Which everyone wanted, but I managed to snag first at the estate sale on the last day when everything was half-priced. We all waited for the price of those two items (and some others) to go down and I managed to get really lucky and got both of the items I wanted. Estate sales are a great place to get some fabulously priced items.
Here is a photo of the waterfall bird bath. It is my favorite piece of garden art in my entire backyard! I have very fond memories of my neighbor, Helen. It was also her favorite concrete piece. I think it was meant to be that I would get those two pieces.
Anyway, thanks for checking out my blog and YouTube video. I garden for me. My family and friends aren't into gardening, so I get to plant what I want!
