I prefer a df also but once in awhile I will purchase a sf. Most of the southern growers send huge single fans. I also think a df seems to do better when newly planted than a sf. I got a sf once that was so puny that I put it in a pot and grew it all summer that way. I was really afraid if I put it in the ground it would be a goner. That was 2 years ago and it is now doing well.
