I do not like to start with SFs because they seem to take forever to get established and increase here. DFs or more really take off. However, there are times that I must settle for a SF because the DF price is too expensive or the daylily is so new that it is only offered in SFs. I am currently bidding on a SF on the Lily Auction. I know that this seller will send a decent size SF in the spring that may bloom this year depending on its bloom season. It will get plenty of water and fertilizer and hopefully by 2015 be established, have increased, and give us very nice blooms.
