Arlene, some color variation of buds or even the flowers on the same stem of Div. VI lilies is pretty common. The weather, especially temperature and the amount of sunlight, plays a big role. I have several hundred Trumpets and Aurelians growing here so I see it all the time. I think it's an interesting feature that adds a nice blend to the garden. Buds are beautiful. I hope to put together a whole album of 'buds only' and post it on this forum after Christmas.
