Point well taken, Linda, except for the fact that 10 days ago we had 2 days of rain which froze to 1/2" of ice on trees and roads, causing over 60,000 people in Northern Vt to experience power outages which lasted for some over a week in duration. I believe I was referring to the extreme weather patterns we are experiencing in Vermont. 'Global warming' is a term often overused especially when the temps drop to -30 degrees. Seems absurd! But then again, when Hurricane Irene hit 'landlocked' Vermont 2 yrs. ago, and destroyed 1250 homes, causing millions of dollars in damages to the infrastructure of this state, along with loss of life, one has to ask, what is going on here? A hurricane in Vermont?
