I am glad Michelle showed us seeds she had peeled so that I don't have to be as suspicious of that seller.....to me it makes no sense to peel them...especially if one doesn't plan on planting them right away..I think that black,, shiny, wrinkly coat is on for a reason.
With that said..I am curious to know if the seller is new to the Lily Auction and if not, how is their feedback? I think it would be very helpful for you to write to them and ask them what they had in mind when they peeled off the outer coating and make sure you have a photo of them to send with your post. There is an outside chance that they could be totally different seeds that the seller sells on some other site and mistakenly sent them to you instead. They look very familiar to me as to some other perennial seeds that I have planted but I can't recall what that seed was/is. I wish I could help and give you some other seed name to see if that would be it. I hope this can be resolved and would appreciate an update if you are so inclined.
