People who have actual gardens and houses think differently when it comes to plants. I have been on both sides of this. As a newlywed in rented apartments I had to confine my attempts at greenery to what was allowed by the landlord, the lease, the space. Very confining. Very limiting having light from windows on only one side.
The first time I checked out the Container Forum, well, I don't know what exactly I was expecting, but it was very different from what I imagined.
Currently I live in a place with room for a small garden which I grow in containers and raised beds (to accommodate my handicap), not anything like having an entire farm with actual acreage, but this small yard garden means the world to me. I cannot forget where I came from and should forget those who are just starting out in life in an apartment (or a dorm room), or those people at the other end of life's calendar who are living once again in and apartment, special care home or the dreaded 'in-law' apartment.
There seems to be room on this forum for [exaggeration] 8 billion daylilies...why not one little apartment? At the moment we still have two threads running on this subject. Why don't we add a note to the original question and close that one, leading everyone to the container forum where they can hunt for an apartment.
