I don't know about other areas, but my property in SoCal was overrun with chasmanthe....lol..the best I can say for it is that it's reliable and the hummers love it. I've always had so much of it for sooo long that given, the much smaller amount of space I have here, I would not waste the space on it...other forms of crocosmias, yes, but not the orange. You can dig them, throw them in a corner and they'll sprout, root, naturalize...which may be what I'll do here, toss them over in the 'wild' of the undeveloped wilderness next door...then the hummers will still have them to enjoy...lol...I'll always remember one of my co-workers telling me how thrilled she was with some corms she found wild on one of her walks and brought some in to share with me...yep, chasmanthe. Years ago I invited my neighbor to go to an RU at drdon's (DG)...she'd bought the front house from us and wanted to take things to exchange with others and so had dug tons of the chasmanthe corms, bagged and labeled them nicely and took them along, labeled 'crocosmia'...I still remember those who later said to me..."Oh...they were chasmanthe....". Just too much of a good thing, I suppose...under appreciated where they grow rampant...People here view Fortnight Lilies in much the same way...they're so sturdy, hardy, drought tolerant, etc that they are used everywhere and people become very blase if not sometimes 'hostile' about them...I do still love those though. They're beautiful and fill a niche that others may not....widely used for a good reason.

Oh...and there is also a good sized rhododenron in front of the house ...unless it is one of the soft colors, it will go also...I'm thinking it's going to be one of the bright, gaudy ones....lol..

The camellias would be pretty difficult to transplant...9-10' tall.
I could be wrong...
and.....
"maybe I should have kept my mouth shut....."
